SMALL GROUPS OR 1-TO-1 GUIDANCE
Turn Wax into Silver or Gold - make your own Pre-Columbian Amulets
These workshops, designed for a small group of up to 6 participants, offer personalized guidance on customizable projects—such as rings, brooches, and pendants—created in Colombia and inspired by actual ancient pre-Columbian gold artifacts displayed in the Museum of Gold in Bogota.
Led by Mariana La Rotta, a jewelry designer and experienced illustrator, you'll gain insights into creating compelling storytelling pieces in silver or gold.
What to Expect in the Workshop:
Introduction to Wax Carving and Lost Wax Process: Learn the basics and understand how your wax model is transformed into metal through the lost wax process.
Start Your Project: All materials and tools are provided, with projects available for every entry level, determining the number of hours needed.
Step-by-Step Guidance: Expert instruction ensures your unique vision is realized. No previous experience is needed. Jump right in!
I will guide you step by step starting from a simple block of wax so you reach with confidence your chosen shape, and give you tips on how to make it more exceptional
After the Workshop:
By the end of our session together, your design will be ready to be cast in your preferred material, polished, and finished by experts, and will usually be ready for pickup within 3 to 6 weeks.
Join me and dive into a journey blending storytelling with fine craftsmanship.

The Bird can be finished as either a pendant or a brooch. Its challenge lies in maintaining symmetry while shaping all its facets.
You'll learn to refine your wax carving skills through clear, step-by-step instructions, guiding you to identify geometric shapes and gradually file them down to reveal the final form. The slow, controlled removal of material helps build confidence and trains your eye to recognize the underlying geometry in every design.
